Mark Gabriel has been playing
basketball for the better part of his life. Mark played his high school basketball
in Houston, Texas at Kingwood High School, one of the premier 5-A high schools in the Houston area. While in high school Mark was the only player to make the varsity team as a sophomore. His contributions
helped the team achieve both local and state ranking in Texas.
After high school, Mark played
his basketball at Haverford College. A starter since his freshman season, Mark
was named most valuable player three out of the four years he played. Mark
reached the 1,000 career point milestone his senior year and left the school in the top five all-time in career points, field
goal percentage, and free-throw percentage. Mark’s greatest sense of pride
comes from the fact that he helped lead the team to its first playoff berth in 10 years, including Haverford’s first
playoff victory in school history during the 2004-2005 season. Other notable
achievements Mark has collected during his college years include: Centennial Conference leading scorer in the 2001-2002 season and
the 2004-2005 season, Conference Player of the week (3 times), Herb Good Philadelphia-area small school outstanding achievement
award, and the Haverford Varsity Cup.
Mark has taken personal
basketball instruction at various times throughout his basketball career. Mark
is a firm believer that champions are not born… but made. Through detailed
practice and comprehensive instruction he will strive to give the best possible personal lessons.
Mark currently works for a financial services company in Wayne, PA.
